This is the first I've heard about a son named James born to Larkin
Wilson, Jr. and his wife, theformer Mary Ann Cabaniss.

year. They settled in Barry County.

    Notes:

This is yet to be verified. Comes from a message on the Ancestry.com
messageboard. Subject is said to be a son of Larkin Wilson, Jr. (and his
wife, the former Mary Ann Cabaniss).
Source: Earline Sparks Barger, December 16, 1998
Source says subject was born in Virginia. This is not possible as Larkin
and Mary Ann were married in 1803 in Georgia where he (Larkin, Jr.) and
his siblings were taken by his mother after his father died in 1792 when
he fall from the roof of a two-story house.
It is most likely James Wilson was a nephew (son of a brother to Larkin)
or cousin (son of Larkin's Uncle Richard who settled in Oglethorpe, GA
instead of Virginia where Larkin, Sr. settled).
There have been many sons named after Larkin, Sr., consequently, many men
    bearing thename of Larkin Wilson.

James married Emmeline Curtis. Emmeline was born in Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Was in Georgia by 1798 according to Georgia Tax Index, 1798-1799.
He paid Georgia taxe onproperty he owned in Oglethorpe County, Collier
District, in 1798. Mary Wilson is also listed as paying property taxes in
the same county, same district, same year, and found on the same page
(14). His mother? His wife? Probably his mother, who was widowed. Any
property his wife owned most likely was listed under Larkin's name.

    ---------------------
    From: Betty Arnold Henderson:
The double L spelling of Larkin's surname comes from the Ancestry.com
database under "Georgia Marriages to 1850". This may be a simple error,
as this same database lists the bride's given name as "Polly" which was
just her nickname. His descendants spelled their surname with one L only.
Larkin and Pollyare my great-great grandparents.
