    Will Book Superior Court #2 pg. 242, Benjamin Berry of Frederick Co., Va., Will dated 8/18/1810 proven 10/02/1810 to Betsy Lane, late B. T. Stribling, one half personal estate and that part of my real estate called "Berry Farm" adjoining the Town of Berryville to Bellah Stribling, other half of personal estate and farm I bought of Benjamin Taylor.

    Benjamin Berry, son of Henry Berry of King George County, settled in what is now Clarke County prior to the Revolution, and in 1798, he procured the formal establishment of the town of Berryville, the town having been platted by him, and consisting of a portion (twenty acres) of a larger tract of land owned by him and his daughter, Sarah Stribling. He and she are buried in the northeast section of the yard of Grace Episcopal Church.

    Benjamin married Winifred Berry on 21 Dec 1789. Winifred (daughter of Enoch Berry and Dulcabella Bunbury) was born about 1730 in King George County, Virginia; died in Frederick County, Virginia. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
