This person is also known in Texas as Fanny Braden Bluntzer Arnold, wife of John Peter Arnold who is also known as Jean Piere Arnold, and the Jean is also called Jacques sometimes, or even John, which is how his family called him. One record has her name as Veronique Francene, and another lists her name as Frances Braden Bluntzer.
The inscription on her tombstone is incorrect, in that she did not emigrate to Texas in 1842, but commenced the voyage to Texas on December 11, 1843, which consumed 121 days; so that in fact, she, and her family arrived sometime in 1844, probably around the middle of April.
According to church records at Oderen, Alsace, where she was born, her baptismal name was Veveranda. She was 5 years old when she and her family departed from Oderen, Alsace, via Antwerp, Belgium, in December of 1843.
John and Fanny acquired extensive lands near Weser on the Coletto Creek in DeWitt and Goliad Counties. They also operated a freight line (by wagon), they also owned a General Store and Cotton Gin at Weser. Fanny died in Weser, Goliad Co., Texas on Jan. 29, 1904, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank J. (Arnold) Gudat. She is buried in STs. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery at Meyersville, DeWitt Co., Texas.

A note in a book by her Granddaughter, Effie Justine Arnold Zengerle says she came to Texas in 1842, probably from her tombstone as mentioned above.
