Isaac Wimberly, a son of James and Cynthia Ann Hart Wimberly, was born in Hunt County, near Greenville, in 1851. He lived in Parker County until he was grown. He came to Wise County and settled on a farm not far from Boonsville. In, 1875, he married Josephine Texas Hefley, daughter of John M. and Jane Cutbirth Hefley. The Hefley family had came to Texas from Tennessee and located on a farm near Boonsville. It is said they crossed the Mississippi River on a large raft, the only means available in the early days.

Isaac and Josephine Wimberly were amoung the early settlers in Wise County and both of their sons remained in Wise County for many years. Isaac had an urge to go to the new Indian Territory, when it was opened up. So in 1905 he took his wife and their three youngest daughters and moved in covered wagons to Cimarron County, Oklahoma, near Sampsel, in the western corner of Oklahoma, about 30 miles from Boise City. Here they homesteaded on several hundred acres of land and remained there until each passed away. Three of their daughters settled in that area and many of their grandchildren still live in that county.

Josephine Hefley Wimberly passed away in Dec, 1940, seven years after her husband. Both are buried in the Marisella Cemetary, near Griggs, Oklahoma.

Article written by Daniel Webster- found in a book in the Fort Worth Public Library. Page 319.

When covered wagons rolled westward in the mid 1800's, a young married couple with three small children from Tippah County, Mississippi, was among them. John Martin Hefley, after losing his wife ----- Carrington, and being left with three samll children, married Jane B. Cutbirth, a daughter of Daniel Cutbirth Jr., and his wife Elizabeth Reed Cutbirth, who lived in Tippah County, Mississippi, at that time. Both young husband and wife were Tennessee born. Little is known of their trip to Texas, but what an interesting story this would be. Their first born child Josephine Texas Hefley, was born in a covered wagon, where the city of Dallas now stands, on February 6, 1855. The family continued on to Parker County and settled west of Springtown on what is now known as the Montgomery Place. Here they remained for a number of years. The Civil War began and J.M. Hefley left his family and served the confederacy. During her husband's absence the young wife and mother, jane, and children were forced to flee for safety into the woods many nights as the Indians came to the settlement and raided almost at will, since most of the men were away at war.

Sometine after 1870 this family moved to Wise County near Boonsville, and here they lived the remainder of their lives. Both husband and wife are buried in the Hefley cemetary, located upon the rise across the road east from the Boonsville Cemetary, at Boonsville. This cemetary is located behind a large barn and cannot be seen from the road. It is enclosed by a tall wire fence. Fanily tradition says that this is on the land owned by J.M. Hefley at that time. He was ill with war infirmities, and knew his time on earth was not long and requested his wife and other family members to start this family cemetary on this certain spot, which was done. Buried here are: John M. (Doc) Hefley, Jane D. Hefley, wife of John Hefley, W.R. Hefley and wife Sallie, Nancy A. McCreight daughter of John and Jane Hefley, Sarah E. Ferguson, daughter of John and Jane Hefley, and her husband Joseph Ferguson.

Most all of their eleven children were borned in either Parker or Wise Counties.
