    eldest son of Philip Grymes, of "Brandon" on the Rappahannock
    river, was burgess
    for Middlesex county in the assemblies of May, 1769, 1769-1771;
    member of the
    house of delegates, 1778, and of the state council, 1803. He
    died May 18, 1805.

    III--Colonial Councillors of State
    of "Brandon," Middlesex county, and son of Hon. John Grymes of
    the same place,
    was appointed justice of Middlesex in 1743, was a member of the
    house of
    burgesses in 1748, and, in 1749, was appointed receiver general
    of Virginia. In
    1751, he was made a member of the council and was present at
    its sessions from
    that year until the close of 1761. His long will, disposing of
    a very large estate and
    dated 1756, is on record in Middlesex. He was the father of
    Philip Ludwell Grymes of
    "Brandon," burgess for Middlesex county 1769, member of the
    house of delegates
    1778, and appointed to the state council in 1803; who died May
    18, 1805.1748 - Burgess from Middlesex Co.

    Betty Landon Carter was Anne Carter who was born in 1702 at Corotoman.

    married Benjamin Harrison IV of "Berkley" in Charles City County.
    Her son, Benjamin was a signerof the Declaration of Independence
    and a
    Governor of Virginia. Two US presidents Harrison were descended from
    Anne.
    Her children were: Ann Harrison , Elizabeth Harrison, Benjamin V
    Harrison, Robert Harrison, Lucy Harrison, Henry Harrison,
    Carter Henry Harrison, Nathaniel Harrison , Charles Harrison ,
    etc.
