1. | Rebecca Lathrop was born about 1699 in Falmouth, Barnstable, MA; was christened on 27 Jun 1725 (daughter of Thomas Lathrop and Experience Gorham); died after 1750 in Tolland, Tolland, CT. Notes: 152. REBECCA, baptized June 27, 1725, married, May 16, 1734, as his second wife, Joseph Hatch of Tolland, Conn. His first wife was the mother of four children: Amy, Joseph, Mercy, and Jonathan, Mr. Hatch was probably son of Ichabod Hatch of Falmouth, Mass. He was a prominent pioneer in the settlement of Tolland, Conn. He was the first tavern keeper, and the first military officer in Tolland--being commissioned captain in 1725. His descendants are still Undisclosed in Tolland. By Rebecca Lothrop he had four children: Lemuel Hatch, born Feb. 29, 1735; Rebecca Hatch, born June 8, 1737, and died Sept. 14, 1739; Ebenezer Hatch, born Apr. 21, 1740; Timothy Hatch, born Aug. 14, 1741. They lived in Barnstable, where his name on the records indicate him as a thrifty and honored citizen. His will, Book IX, p. 300, dated May 24, 1751, and probated Aug. 3, 1757, names as legatees: daughter, Rebecca Lothrop; daughter, Mehetabel Davis; daughter, Mary Taylor; daughter, Lydia Bacon; daughter, Elizabeth Bartlett, grandson, Thomas Lothrop, son of Thomas, deceased; heirs of son Ansel, deceased; heirs of son James, deceased; and son Seth Lothrop. Sole executor, son Seth. He died July 3, 1757. Thomas married Experience Gorham on 23 Apr 1697. William Bradford said of Samuel Fuller: "The beloved physician of both the Pilgrims and Indians. He was one of the noolest of the Mayflower group, with a gentle tolerance and a wide outlook on life," of which one indication is found in his deep friendship for Roger Williams, who was educated at Pembroke College, Cambridge.
