    On the 1880 census for DeWitt County, TX, there is an Andrew Jacobs age 67 listed as father. If this is Michael's father, why is he listed as Andrew and not Henry? Or, if its Mary's father, why is he not listed as Joseph?

    April 15, 1872: Michael purchased all rights, title and interest in property from his mother-in-law, Anna Maria Bitterly, and his sister-in-law, Rosalia Bitterly, situated in the County of DeWitt east of the 5 mile Coletto Creek, it being part of the James Quinn league and labor and a part of a 205-3/4 acres tract of land deeded by A. Golly to Joseph Bitterly dated 29 Jan 1866, refer to book K, page 121& 122, records of deed in DeWitt County.

    November 24, 1883: Michael purchased from Emilie Bitterle, Caroline Bitterle, William Bitterle and John Bitterle an estimated 100 acres of land which is part of the James Quinn league and labor in DeWitt County and a part of a 205-3/4 acres tract of land deeded by A. Golly to Joseph Bitterle on 29 Jan 1866.

    Notes:

    September 30, 1910: Mary purchased from her children, the property left to them by their father, Michael Jacobs; about 472 acres of the James Quinn League and about 232-1/2 acres of the M. Ortiz league and about 100 acres of the Thos. H. Bell league and all personal property belonging to said estates.

    In her will, Mary left to her three daughters, Amelia Jacobs Harsdorff, Bertha Jacobs Boyd, Alvina Jacobs Schrade, all her land and real estate in DeWitt County, being 549 acres more of less, about three miles south of Arneckeville, Texas and being the land upon which Louis Gerhold resided. Each daughter has one year to pay $466.00 to their brother, Berthold Jacobs, as a stipulation to receiving their share of the estate. She states she did not leave an equal share of her property to Berthold because she has already advanced him approximately $7500.00 and she feels she is being equally fair to all four children by not doing so.
