  Notes	Joined the army at 17 in 1776, taken prisoner in Canada. He was released during Gen. Arnold's retreat from the blockade of Quebec. In the battle of White Plains, Oct. 28, 1776, he was with the troops that crossed the Delaware on Dec. 8 and he recrossed it on the 25, in the terrible snow and sleet storm to make the successful suprise attack on Trenton, NJ. He was in the battles of Princeton, Brandywine and Germantown, PA, where he was wounded and had a leg amputated. He was a farmer in Burtonville, Montgomery, NY until 1838 and Geneva, NY 1839- 1841.
