! A year after his wife Nancy (Crider) died, 55 year old Bill Tosh married 19
year old (!) neighbor Gabriella Peek (Peak) on Dec. 22, 1858. Gaby was one
of the 14 kids of Thomas W. (1780-1850 or 1861) and Frances (Fanny)
Peek (1799-1872). Tom and Fanny and other Peek's are buried in
Adamson Cemetery, about a mile from Crider.
! Bill and Gaby had one child, Thomas born 1858, who died right away.
It is pretty obvious that old Bill had made the young Gabriella pregnant
before marriage. The new wife must have been hard on the old man; Bill
died a couple of years later, leaving Gabriella as a young widow. He had
made a 1958 will (see my files) leaving everthing to his kids (all but Pitts);
in 1965 this will was set aside because of his re-marriage. Gaby got
everything from the rather large estate. Later, her brother-in-law George
Tosh married Eliza Guill in the Widow Gabriella's home. Gabriella remarried
five years later on Jan. 31, 1666, this time to a Nelson Davis who might
have been a 32 year old who had drifted west from Wayne County, KY.
