HIRAM WALKER and MARY M. GORDON are great, great grandparents to Barbara Ballard.
In 1850 Missouri census, HIRAM was in Lafayette Co., MO.
HIRAM was a rancher and a blacksmith; was a Methodist by religion. He and family came to San Saba County, TX, in early 1870's and served as County Commissioner as did all of his sons. "Unusual in the life of the family is the fact that the father and all four sons served as county commissioners for San Saba County.
After reaching manhood the sons were successfully engaged in the livestock business in San Saba County. They and members of their families, as well as the families of the sisters, have meant much to the county and city of their adoption."
