      Needum Nichols. According to Scarlett McDonald's notes (an Eddyville, Lyon
      County, KY genealogy researcher), Gabriel R. Marshall verified her age for
      this marriage.

      Item ^60 MARRIAGE CONTRACT (transcribed)

      ! Know all men by these present that whereas a matromonial engagment is
      exptected to be entered into between George Marshall and Polly Connell
      both of Fayette County and State of Kentucky. These aurefore to witness
      that the aforenamed George Marshall on his part doth covenant and agree
      provided the engagement aforenamed is consumated, to give grant and
      convey unto the aforenamed Polly Connell, her heirs, and asigns forever,
      the following described tract of land containing one hundred and sixty acres
      in the Territory of Arkansas known by a warrant deposited in the General
      land office, numbered 23,064 and more particulary described in the Patent
      Recorded in the office of the Clerk of the Caldwell County Court, State of
      Kentucky, Col 4, page 479.

      ! The aforenamed George Marshall futher covenants and agrees that
      aforesaid Polly Connell should bear unto him the said George during their
      married state one or more children and conduct herself toward him as a
      faithfull, kind, and dutiful wife, to give to her and her heirs two female
      slaves of the age of eight years or upwards. The said Polly Connell on
      her part covenants and agrees (in case of the fulfilment of the
      aforementioned engagement to relinquish all claim which she might have by
      virture of the connection with said Marshall to all landed property belonging
      on deeded to him in Caldwell County, Ky, the afore mentioned tract
      excepted.
