      At the time of Sara's death (1693) she had a house in New Amsterdam at the corner of Pearl and Whitehall streets. She married first Mr Hans Kierstede, surgeon, from Maegdenburg (Madgeburg, Prussian Saxony) Source NY Gen and Biog Record vol 56 p 210
      Sara became greatly proficient in the Indian language. In 1664 she acted as an interpreter in negotiating the treaty made by Pieter Stuyvesant with the Hudson River Indians. On account of her excellant services as interpreter, a patent was granted to her second husband Cornelius Van Borsum 14 Oct 1673, " of a lot on Manhatten Island, north of the Windmill
      on the west side of the road that runs to Klatchhook." Sara and Hans had 10 children.
