!Married Kate Florence Cook, daughter of Sebrene and Polly Cook, born
November 1873 in Kentucky. Kate died when her children were young,
probably 1901. According to her grandson Luther Milton, Jr. Kate Florence
was 1/16 Cherokee Indian. Children as shown in 1900 Mississippi
County, MO. Census were Millie (1896) and Luther Milton (1898). William
and Kate were married seven years (according to the 1900 Census), thus
the marriage took place in approximately 1893 when William was 21 and
Kate was 20 years of age.

Catey married William Alfred Hinshaw in 1893 in KY. William (son of Andrew Jackson Hinshaw and Nancy L. Godwin-Mcdougal) was born on 14 Jun 1872 in Berkley, Ballard, County, KY; died on 11 May 1958 in East Prarie, Mississippi, County, MO; was buried on 13 May 1958 in I.O.O.F. Cem., Charleston, Mississippi, County, MO. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

! Dora's father, William, never spoke to his subsequent families about his
first born.

Notes:

! Millie married Fred Vaughn. Fred was born in 1892 he died in 1974 at
Pine Bluff, Arkansas and is buried in Pine Bluff. Millie had two sons,
Fred Jr. born in 1925 in Pine Bluff, AR and died in 1966 at Betheny, OK
and is buried there.

! Her other son, Jack Alfred, was born in 1928 in Pine Bluff and died in
1939. He accidently hanged himself while playing in the back yard. He is
buried in Pine Bluff.

Notes:

!He married Ruby E. Halsey in 1922 (Belle Blanchard was Ruby's mother -
not known is Ruby's father's given name). Ruby was born on 5-21-1903,
she died on 1-24-1994 at Pine Bluff, Arkansas and is buried there. Her age
was 92.

!Luther left home at the age of 14, worked in a stone quarry and then at
the age of 17 - And throughout most of his life worked on the railroad.
He rose to become an engineer, died of prostate cancer at the age of 63.

!After Luther's mother, Kate Florence died when he was 2-3 years old,
he, and his sister Millie, lived with his father William and his second
wife Lucy. Luther's son, Milton, said he remembers when he was quite
young (Undisclosed in Malden, Mo) that his father took him by a "big two-story
house" where he (Luther) had spent a lot of time. This is consistent with
Luther's obituary that he was schooled in Berkley and Hickman Kentucky.
